                                     Yoga Evening Organized



In order to intrigue the students to the umpteen benefits of yoga,  our school organized Yoga Sessions for the students on 12th January, 2018. The students were educated on the importance of Yoga. They were explained how yoga helps in maintaining not only physical and mental health but also a healthy social life. The famous yoga Guru Samdev taught the students various Aasanas. He started the session  with warming up and stretching followed by a series of Asanas such as Padmasana, Paschimottasans, Pawan Muktasana, Vajrasana, Dhanurasana, Chakrasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana,  Bhujangasana, and ending with Shavasana. After Asanas session students were also taught the Pranayama – For Longevity. Addressing the students on the occasion, the Principal appealed to the students to include yoga in their daily routine for its wholesome and salubrious effects on the mind, body and soul.

                               YOGA AWARENESS PROGRAM

St. Francis de Sales School, New Delhi organised a Yoga Awareness Program for the students of the secondary and senior secondary classes on 19th February, 2019 in the school auditorium. The program was organised in collaboration with Yoga India, an NGO working in the field of yoga promotion. The students made the most of the opportunity by attending the program in large numbers.

The program began at 7 am in the morning and went on till 9:30 am. The yoga instructors started the program with a speech on the effectiveness of yoga to counter the effects of stress in our lives. They then educated the participants on the role of food, water, and adequate sleep in physical and well being of an individual. This was followed by a presentation on simple yoga asanas that prove to be most beneficial for starters.

The program concluded with the practice of these asanas and distribution of pamphlets about yoga courses organized by the NGO. The students were excited to learn about yoga asanas and their effectiveness against stress. Many students enrolled for full time courses with the NGO.
