No, not all substance taste same. pH value of lemon is 2.2 and it is about 5-6% citric acid so it sour in taste. Apples and oranges are moderately acidic. The pH of apple juice has an approximate value from 3.5 and 4, the pH of orange juice ranges from 3 to 4. Tamarind has tartaric acid in it that is why its nature is acidic. The pH of tamarind is approximately 2.5 to 3. Sugar is sweet in taste. If we talk about the pH value of unprocessed sugar than it is slightly acidic in nature but brown and white sugar is slightly basic in nature. Salt is neutral in nature. It is neither acidic nor basic. Taste of salt can be sweet, sour, bitter, salty, savory but common table salt(NaCl) is salty.
