We are given three test tubes , in which contents are distilled water , an acidic solution and a basic solution and we have only red litmus paper to identify, so we will dip the red litmus paper in all three contents,

• if red litmus paper changes into blue then it is basic solution, because bases turn red litmus paper to blue.

• Now , we'll try this red litmus that changed into blue to find other two contents.

• if blue litmus paper changes into red then it is acidic solution, because acids turn blue litmus paper to red.

• And then dip the solution into third test tube, if it won't show any change neither red or neither blue then the content is distilled water because distilled water is neutral in nature.
