My friend might be in some sort of tensions or stress that causes him to misbehave with others. But if this is something regular then the reason can be him thinking juniors aren't worthy of respect.
This should be stopped anyhow. I'll try to tell him that juniors demand respect too. And if he isn't interested in respecting others he shouldn't probably hope to earn respect either. I'll try to convince him that his misbehaviour isn't really looked upon instead it can harm his reputation.
