My dear grandpa,
How are you doing? I hope you are doing okay.
I want to tell you about the amazing experience that i had last week. As a part of our drama group's outreach program, we had gone to the village in the border of Delhi and Haryana, with the aim to spread awareness about the "Swachh Bharat".
I have never been to that side so I was excited to be there. Once done with the performance, we also gave them some household needs, telling them how to keep their houses and surroundings clean. They were just living in a pile of garbage that were dumped by the trucks from the cities, and they were accustomed to the smell too. We found it hard to be there at first but as we stayed longer, our senses get used to it. I saw how they were prone to diseases, and how it is also partly our fault, dumping our wastes in their residences.
It was hard to imagine a life there but they seem to be used to it. We taught them the need to stay clean, and also taught them the numerous ways they can prevent themselves from contracting any illness/ disease.
The experience was something that will impact me for a long time. I had never imagined someone living in such conditions, but the first-hand experience of that living space had proven me wrong. Now, I know what it feels like to be living in that condition, and how I need to contribute to the betterment of their living conditions.
I only hope that I can make a difference in their lives, one way or the other.
Love you Grandpa, and I hope that you can advise me regarding this issue, and help me find ways to help those in need.
Take care, will see you soon.
Love, .........
