The following specimen will give you plenty of ideas for your ASL third task. You can use the same discussion or develop your own taking ideas from it.

Student A: Hey, I wanted to discuss with you a very serious issue; can you spare some time?

Student B: Sure! What is the matter?

Student A: You know my younger brother? He has been very upset these days!

Student B: That’s really very serious issue! What is the reason of his being upset?

Student A: As you already know he is in the school hockey team, he is facing some problems. He is already the best player of the team; he has contributed many match-winning performances to the school team.

Student B: Then, what is the problem? Why is he upset?

Student A: Actually, one of his close friends, who is also in the team is jealous of him! He is always conspiring against him. He is quite close to the captain. He always tries to keep him out of the practice session and tournaments. As a result my brother is hurt and depressed. He also does not want me to talk to his friend.

Student B: Well, it is a case of professional rivalry. It happens almost everywhere. But your brother’s attitude to the problem needs to be rectified. First of all, your brother must handle the issue a little more assertively. Since he is the key player and match-winning performer, he must discuss the issue with the coach, and the Physical Education teacher. He must complain against them.

Student A: But he thinks, this may jeopardize his friendship. I had advised him the same.

Student B: By showing ill-intentions, his friend has already jeopardized the friendship. This is not a friendship. Tell your brother that if his friend were a true friend, he would never harm his interest. So, your brother must save his own interest.

Student A: I will tell him so. He really regards you a lot. I am sure he will definitely change his stance and assert his right. Thanks a lot for your time and valuable guidance.

Student B: You are welcome!
