Zinc is a metal. Zinc oxide reacts with dilute NaOH to form sodium zincate ( salt) and water.
Zno + 2NaOH-------> Na² ZnO² + H²O.
Zinc oxide is a amphoratic oxide that is it can react with acid as well as bases.
