zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid where as copper does not explain why?

COPPER IS BELOW HYDROGEN IN ACTIVITY SERIES. THE ELEMENTS BELOW COPPER DOES NOT REACT.

In the activity series of metals it is lower in position than Zinc hence the answer
