Zinc librates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid , whereas copper does not . Explain why ?

Zinc is more reactive than Hydrogen so it displaces it.
Copper is less reactive than Hydrogen

Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid, whereas copper does not. ... It means that zinc oxidises (loses electrons) more easily than hydrogen whereas copper does not do so. So, copper does not displace hydrogen from dilute acids.
