a)Because when you shapens the knife you decrease the area of contact of the knife due to which pressure acts on a smaller surface thus creating larger effect of force.
b)she is intelligent. Use her lnowledge at the right time

Answer:

Sharpening the knife help in cutting the objects easily due to its very thin edge. The thing is cut readily by the force of our hand since it applies pressure to such a small area of the object.

Explanation:

a) When Nikita sharpens the knife's cutting edge, the task of cutting fruits becomes very easy.

  • Because a sharp knife's edge is so thin, the force of our hands lands on a smaller region of the object, creating a significant pressure that readily slices through the material.
  • A blunt knife, however, has a thicker edge. And as a result, our hand's force applies to a larger portion of the object and exerts less pressure.
  • This lessening pressure makes cutting the thing challenging.

b) From the above case, it can be understood that Nikita is a smart girl. She used her expertise when it is appropriate.

Thus, (a) Sharpening the knife help in cutting the objects easily due to its very thin edge. The thing is cut readily by the force of our hand since it applies pressure to such a small area of the object.

(b) Nikita is a smart girl. She used her expertise when it is appropriate and we should also act like Nikita.
