in the experiment we will try to burn a heap of green leaves and dry leaves.

we find out that a heap dry leaves burn easily while the green leaves takes time this is because green leaves hold some amount of water so its ignition temperature gets increased and it does not burn easily. On the other hand, dry leaves are waterless, so they catch fire easily. (having low ignition temperature)

Hence, we can say that substance will burn when it will achieve its ignition temperature.
