a rectangular floor that measures 8 meters by 10 meters

area of rectangular floor=L×B⇒8 meters × 10 meters

area=80 sq meters

carpet  measure 2 meters by 2 meters

area of rectangular floor  = 2 meters × 2 meters⇒4 sq meters

∴number of square carpet=area of rectangular floor÷area of rectangular floor

∴number of square carpet=80 sq meters÷4 sq meters

∴number of square carpet=20

∴costof 20 square carpet=20 ×$12

total cost for the number of carpet=$240 ANS
