On the basis of ‘agricultural land availability’, we can classify the ‘agricultural farming system’ into two systems which are – ‘extensive farming system’ and ‘intensive farming system’.

Explanation:

  • The extensive farming system is when there is a large part of land available for cultivation which helps to increase the ‘area of cultivation’. This results in the production of more crops and yield.
  • In the intensive farming system when there is a high level of input in terms of intensive cropping and high level of output within the per ‘cubic unit’ of the agricultural land.
