Given expressions are

3x² + 3x - 5 , 2x² - 8x - 5

i ) Subtracting first expression

from second expression

2x² - 8x - 5 - ( 3x² + 3x - 5 )

= 2x² - 8x - 5 - 3x² - 3x + 5

= 2x² - 3x² - 8x - 3x - 5 + 5

= -x² - 11x

ii ) subtracting second expression

from first expression, we get

3x² + 3x -5 - ( 2x² - 8x - 5 )

= 3x² + 3x - 5 - 2x² + 8x + 5

= 3x² - 2x² + 3x + 8x - 5 + 5

= x² + 11x
