Urbanization means when the population shifts from rural areas to urban areas. With the advancements in the technology and exposure, the rate of urbanization is increasing. More than half of the population is living in urban areas. Since a long time urbanization has been viewed as a consequence of growth and is seen as a threat to the world. Today in my speech I will highlight the points which will prove how urbanization can be beneficial for our economy.
Increasing urbanization leads to huge demands of services, job creation, infrastructure, etc. This will lead to a better image of a country and as a result, the whole economy will grow. Urbanization is a driver of growth and it attracts inward investment because other countries will start importing and exporting when more products are being made with the help of urbanization, no country ever reached a middle-income status without urbanization
Urbanization can be risky and lead to disadvantages if not planned properly, problems like constrained capacity and limited finance for infrastructure and communication can arise. In order to have effective results, effective monitorization should be done and urbanization can prove to very beneficial for the economy. The reason for rapid urbanization is because we have more knowledge and more resources than before.
