The length of an aluminium bar of length 80 cm increases by 1 mm on heating. What is the final temperatureof the bar if it was initially at temperature 20 °C? (Given : Coefficient of linear expansion of aluminium= 25 × 10–6 / °c)

Δl/l = αΔt
(1×10^-3)/(80×10^-2) = (25×10^-6)×Δt
Δt = (1×10^-3)/(80×10^-2×25×10^-6)
Δt=50=t-t0
t-t0=50
t-20=50
t=70°C
