7. Roof top of a house in a village
has been made rectangular
shaped of dimension 22 m x
20 m. The owner of house has
connected drain of roof top
with a cylindrical vessel on
ground through a circular pipe.
The diameter of cylindrical
vessel is 2 m. Hence the whole rainwater collected
on roof top can be stored in cylindrical vessel. A
certain day rainfall of 2.5 cm is recorded.
(i) Find the volume of water stored in cylinder.
(ii) Find the height of water filled in cylindrical
tank.​

Cylindrical tank : r=1m,h=3.5m

The volume of tank =πr2h

=722×1×1×3.5

=722×1035

=11m3

Area of roof =l×b=22×20=440m2

Rainfall =Area of roofVolume of tank

∴ Rainfall =440m211m3=0.025m

∴ Rainfall is 2.5cm
