The plan of Baffle Creek to come out from Gladstone and merge into Bundaberg council has not been successful as neither councils are convinced of the move.
Two petitions were tabled in the Queensland Parliament for the government to find out Baffle Creek could be moved to the Bundaberg council area. Jackie Trad, the Government Minister, said it required a community request from both councils and also proof that the new council will be financially stable and people's referendum.
