When there is only one cigarette left in the box and if we ask for a cigarette to the shopkeeper then He gives the last cigarette along with the box to us …

~The same logic applies here ~

All the first eleven people can take the eggs form the carton and the twelfth person will get the egg along with the carton.. So as per logic, Still one egg remains in the carton ..
