A boy bought some sweets at 5rs each and some samosas at rs 3each. The number of sweet add up to 25 and he paid rs95. Find individual number of sweets and samosas

Solution:
Let the no. of sweets be x & samosas be y.
Then according to the given conditions, we get
5x + 3y = 95 .........E1
& x + y = 25 .........E2

To solve, multiplying E2 by 3, then E2 becomes
3x + 3y = 75 ..........E3

Subtracting E3 from E2, we get
2x = 20
Therefore, x = 10.

Now, substituting the value of x in E2, we get
y = 25 - 10 = 15.

Therefore, no. of sweets = 10 &
no. of samosas = 15.
