S - shaped pattern of population growth form shows an initial gradual increase, followed by an exponential increase and then a gradual decline to a near constant level.

J - shaped curve because J - shaped pattern shows exponential population growth and its abrut crash after attaning the peak value.

b) As mentioned by Drawin "fitness of a species" was explained in the theory of evolution by natural selection. This theory stated that the organisms having a stable representative capacity and the ones that can produce healthy offspring are more fit and thus have more chances of survival.
