Step-by-step explanation:

Given A conical tent has an angle of 60 degree at the vertex . if the curved surface area is 100 meter square. then the volume of the tent is

  • Curved surface area of a cone is = π r l
  •                                                          = π r (r^2 + h^2)
  • We need to find r
  • So tan 60 = r / h
  •        √3 = r / h
  • Or r = h√3
  •            Now curved surface area of cone = π √3 h √(√3 h)^2 + h^2)
  •                                        100 = π √3 h (√3 h^2 + h^2)
  •                                       100 = π √3 h x 2h
  •                                       100 = 2 √3 π h^2
  •                                      100 / 2 √3 π = h^2
  •                                   So h = √700 / 76.21
  •                                  Or h = 3.03 m^2
  • Now volume of cone = 1/3 π r^2 h
  •                                     = 1/3 x 22 / 7 x (3√3)^2 x 3.03
  •                                     = 1799.82 / 21
  •                                      = 85.70 m^3
  • So volume of the conical tent is 85.70 m^3
