Given info : A cube of side 28 cm has four identical solid spheres tightly fitted into it.

To find : how much water can be filled in this cube ?

solution : see figure,

diameter of sphere = half of side length of the cube.

⇒ 2r = 28/2 = 14

⇒r = 7 cm

so, volume of four sphere = 4 × 4/3 πr³

= 4 × 4/3 × 22/7 × 7 × 7 × 7

= 16/3 × 22 × 49

= 5,749.3 cm³

volume of cube = (28 cm)³

= 21952 cm³

the volume of water can be filled in the cube = volume of cube - volume of four spheres

= 21952 - 5749.3

= 16202.7 cm³

Therefore the volume of water is 16202.7 cm³ that can be filled in the cube.

Answer:-

Given info :

A cube of side 28 cm has four identical solid spheres tightly fitted into it.

To find :

how much water can be filled in this cube ?

solution :

see figure,

diameter of sphere = half of side length of the cube.

⇒ 2r = 28/2 = 14

⇒r = 7 cm

so, volume of four sphere = 4 × 4/3 πr³

= 4 × 4/3 × 22/7 × 7 × 7 × 7

= 16/3 × 22 × 49

= 5,749.3 cm³

volume of cube = (28 cm)³

= 21952 cm³

the volume of water can be filled in the cube = volume of cube - volume of four spheres

= 21952 - 5749.3

= 16202.7 cm³

Therefore the volume of water is 16202.7 cm³ that can be filled in the cube.
