A cylindrical tank of 7m. radius and 10 m. depth dug. The soil taken out from the tank is spread on a rectangular park of length 5m.and breadth 3.5 m. Find the height of the soil formed on the park.
Answers
The rectangular park has a height. So instead of taking it as a rectangle, we can consider it as a cuboid
We are given that:
- Radius of cylinder = 7 m
- Height of cylinder = 10 m
- Length of cuboid = 5 m
- Breadth of cuboid = 3.5 m
We need to find the height of rectangular park.
According to the question,
Cylinder → Cuboid
So,
Volume of cylinder = Volume of cuboid
➥ π r² h = l × b × h
⇒ (22 ÷ 7) × 7 × 7 × 10 = 5 × 3.5 × h
⇒ 22 × 7 × 10 = 17.5 × h
⇒ h = (22 × 7 × 10) ÷ 17.5
⇒ h = 1540 ÷ 17.5
⇒ h = 88 m
∴ The height of the soil so formed = 88 m
