64 m. Find the initial velocity and the time taken by the body to come to rest. [

excluding direction i.e., negative signs, the initial velocity is 8m/s and time taken is 16s

srihavya22: then use v^2-u^2=2as to find out initial velocity by taking v=0 (sincde the body comes to rest)
srihavya22: at last, use v=u+at to find out time
srihavya22: you might get negative sings. but ignore them, since we are only considering magnitude
