Sometimes equation are not linear but they can be reduced to a pair of linear equation by making some suitable substitutions.
If the given equations involves 1/x-y , 1/x+y then put 1/x-y=p, 1/x+y=q, to convert them into linear form. After solving, put the values of u & v in above substitutions to get the value of x and y.
