A mass of 200kg is accelerated uniformly from a velocity of 10m/s to 16m/s in 12s. Calculate the initial and final momentum of the object and force that brings about this change

Given

u=10m/s

v=16m/s

m=200kg

t=12s

Initial momentum

P=mu

=200×10

=2000kg-m/s

Final momentum

P=mv

=200×16

=3200kg-m/s

Now

F=ma

F=m (v-u/t)

F=200 (16-10/12)

F=200×0.34

F=68N
