A plane is flying at the hight of 3000m above the sea level.At a particular point,It is extremely above a submarine floating 400m below the sea level.what is the vertical distance between them?​

regardless of its sign.

If ' x ' is an integer then its absolute

value is denoted by | x | and is

defined as

i ) | x | = x , if x is positive.

ii ) | x | = 0 , if x is zero,

iii ) | x | = - x , if x is negative.

According to the given problem ,

Distance of the flight above the sea

level = 5000m

Distance of the submarine below the

Sea level = -1200m

Vertical distance between flight and

Submarine = | 5000 | + | - 1200 |

= 5000 + 1200

= 6200 m
