The stars that lighten the skies each day
Shone bright and happy and clear.
The moon that brightens the skies each day
Wiped away my fears.
I saw the rain in people's eyes
As the drops wetted their nose
Tears of laughter, tears of joy
For the new, blooming rose.
Years later the rain had come
Turning the village bright
No more sorrows, no more pains
No more ploughing into the night.
For now the earth will smile again
As her children laugh and cheer
For the rain will come back again
To wipe away our tears.
