Steps of construction

Draw a Δ PQR with sides PQ = 4.2 cm, QR = 5.4 cm and PR = 4.8 cm.

Divide the side QR into 3 equal parts.

Mark the point  T on ray QR such that its scale is equal to the parts being obtained after dividing the line QR into 3 equal parts.

Draw a line parallel to the side PQ from point T.

Mark the other point as L on the ray RP.

Hence the PQ/LT = 3/4.
