A reservoir is in the form of a rectangular parallel piped
(cuboid). Its length is 20 cm. If 18 kl of water is removed from the reservoir, the water level goes down by 15 cm. Find the width of the reservoir.

SirYaSir: if l = 20 cm then w = 60000 cm
SirYaSir: i think l = 20 m
SirYaSir: sounds more real

Given:

The length of the cuboid reservoir is 20m

18kl of water is removed from it the water level hoes down by 15cm

To Find:

The width of the reservoir

Solution:

It is given that when 18kl of water is removed from the reservoir the water level goes down by 15cm.

Firstly, changing 15cm into m which will be 0.15m.

Now let the width of the reservoir be x.

The volume of water removed from the reservoir = 3x m³

Also, the volume of the water removed from the reservoir = 18kl

So, 3x = 18

to find the value of x we divide 18 by 3.

x = 18/3 m

x = 6m

Therefore, the width of the reservoir is 6m.
