a student dipped a strip of ph paper in distilled water. What colour will he observe. He then dissolved a pinch of common salt in the same sample. What will be the expected change in colour of the ph paper? Give reasons.

the colour of the pH paper in both theses cases will not change as both of the solutions are neutral in nature

distilled water is neutral in nature.

if we add salt to it it become salt water

salt water ph lies between 7.5 to 8.3

so it is a weak base

the color remains unchanged it is green for salt water
