In the second generation there is 75% chance of production of coloured offspring.

Explanation:

  • the coloured offspring is produced only when the dominant allele is present in the individual.
  • The purple colour in the flower is a dominant characteristics. One of the parent is is recessive (aabbcc) in nature and the other parent it is  heterozygous dominant(Aabbcc).
  • As a result of this one  will be homozygous dominant, 2 will be heterozygous dominant and one will be recessive. Hence both the the dominant offspring will result in the formation of a coloured flower and the recessive will produce a colourless flower. And there is 75% chance of production of a colour flower.
