According to the endosymbiotic hypothesis, why did the large cells not destroy the small aerobic cells they engulfed?.

Large cells do not destroy the small aerobic cells they engulf, because the small aerobic cells provide energy by using up of oxygen in their cellular respiration, which in turn is used up by the large cells for their metabolism. This forms idea of endosymboitic hypothesis.
