Activity 1 Take to wooden blocks, a glass chimney and a candle. Place a lighted candle on a table. Cover the candle with the help of the glass chimney. Rest the chimney over the wooden blocks in such a way that air can enter the chimney. Now, on the second instance, place a glass plate over the chimney. What would happen to the candle? Record the observations on both the instances.

However the chimmey placed over the candle in such a way that it is rested on the table . this mean that air does not enter in chimmey from below . thus , the flame of candle flickers ans produceproduces smoke . on the other hand the fame of candle goes offs as air is not available for burning
