There are two reproductive cells called as sperm and ovum. they are help ful in formation of the zygote. one sperm or one ovum have some chromosomes in them. all our cells in the body have 46 chromosomes. but only the sperms or ovum has only 23 chromosomes. when the fertilisation occur, they both fuse and form a complete cell with 46 chromsomes.
