An object of height 4 cm is placed at a distance of 15 cm in from concave lens of power -10 dioptres, find size of the image? Class 10 science ch 10 solve it with proper explanation.

Concave lens

ho=+4 cm
u=-15 cm

P=1/f       f=Focal Length 
 -10 =1/f
f=(1/-10)×100  cm
f=-10cm

using lens formula
1/f=1/v-1/u
⇒1/v=1/f+1/u
⇒1/v= -1/10 -1/15
⇒1/v=(-3-2)/30
⇒1/v=-5/30
⇒1/v=-1/6

Image distance (v)= -6 cm

hi/ho=v/u
⇒hi=v/u×ho
⇒hi=-6/-15 ×4
⇒hi=2/5 ×4
⇒hi=8/5cm
⇒hi=1.6 cm

Image Height =1.6 cm Answer.
