Hey!!

Am I right if u are asking bout the meristem found at the base of leaves and internods??

Well,! Then your answer is INTERCALARY meristem .....

Some of its characteristics are :

• It is derived from apical meristem..

• It is responsible for increase of plant growth by internode elongation.

• Short- lived meristem

• prominently found in grasses, sugar cane, bamboo, equisitum etc.

• Regeneration off grass after their removal of apical part by herbivores is possible due to intercalary meristem..
