Hi there!
Here's the answer:

¶\¶\¶ Points to remember: ¶/¶ /¶

¶ For the hands of the clock are to be opposite to each other(i.e., in the same straight line but not together) they should be 30 minute spaces apart.

¶ In 60 minutes, the minute hand gains 55 minutes on the hour hand.

Coming to given question ,

At 2 'O clock, the Hour hand is at 2 and the minute hand is at 12.

The Hour hand has to move 10 minute spaces first so that both hands can be together.

(First, both hands should be on "2" )

Now, Minute hand has to move 30 minute spaces so that both the hands of a clock are in same straight line but not together

(Which means hands of Clock are now opposite)

So, The minute hand has to gain (10+30) = 40 minute spaces over the hour hand.

55 minute spaces are gained in 60 min.

40 minute spaces will be gained in [(60/55) × 40] = 480/11 = 43 7/11

•°• The hands will be in same straight line but not together at 43 7/11 min. past 2.
