Let the present age of Ayush be x years.

Then, present age of Bharat will be x/3 years.

8 years ago Ayush's ages = (x - 8) years

8 years ago Bharat's age = 7*(x/3 - 8)

Now, according to the question.

⇒ (x - 8) = 7*(x/3 - 8/1)

⇒ (x - 8) = 7*(x - 24)/3

⇒ (x - 8) = (7x - 168)/3

⇒ Now, cross multiplying.

⇒ 3*(x - 8) = 7x - 168

⇒ 3x - 24 = 7x - 168

⇒ 3x - 7x = - 168 + 24

⇒ - 4x = - 144

⇒ 4x = 144

⇒ x = 144/4

⇒ x = 36 

So, present age of Ayush is 36 years.

Present age of Bharat = 36/3

= 12 years.
