Calculate pH of an aqueous solution having H3O+ concentration equal to 7.9 * 10 ^-11 M. Which nature, acidic, basic or neutral will be possessed by this aqueous solution.

Hence, pH is calculated by -

pH = -log[H3O+]

pH = -log(7.9×10^-11)

pH = -log(7.9) - (log10^-11)

pH = 10.1024

As pH of the solution is more than 7, given solution is of basic (alkaline) nature.
