Answer: (2) 60%

Solution:

percentage error in velocity = 30%

or, (%∆v) = 30%

since,

KE =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}

hence,

%age error in KE = (%∆m) + 2(%∆v)

(%∆KE) = (%∆m) + 2(%∆v)

since, here any information about error in measurement of mass is not given,

we can take,

(%∆m) = 0..

so,

(%∆KE) = 2(%∆v) = 2×30% = 60%.....

pandeytanushree267: I am sorry but the answer is 69%
MidA: are you sure ??
MidA: if it is so, then we will go for 2nd assumption that if error in measurement of mass is not zero then error in KE will be greater than 60%. So, the sole option that exists which satisfy this criteria is 69%.
pandeytanushree267: Yes I am sure, I asked my teacher about it and he told me that in this question as the error is large, we cannot use the formulas of percentage error because they are for small error, so we will solve this with different method.
MidA: ok
MidA: if you get solution of this problem, please let me know also.
MidA: I think , you are studying in Akash Institute. Right ?
MidA: I got the solution.
pandeytanushree267: Yes
