Hey dear ◆●◆●◆●
°°°°Mr. Arthur Gilman of the Cambridge School for Young Ladies was Helen's teacher who prepared her for college. Frau Grote, her German teacher and Mr. Gilman, the principal, were the only teachers in the school who learned the finger alphabet to instruct her. This shows their interest in Helen's welfare.
Frau Grote laboured to give Helen special lessons twice a week so Miss Sullivan could get some rest which shows she was a considerate person while Mr. Gilman taught her English literature. He was a learned man since his broad views on history and literature helped Helen enormously. He was also very generous since he offered to let Mildred study with Helen. He even read the examination questions to Helen through manual alphabet and read the answers she had written so she could correct her errors. He was extremely helpful towards her. However, he was also overly concerned for her and decided to reduce her course load so she would not feel burdened. This would imply that she would stay at the school for an additional three years. Mr. Gilman's interference caused Mrs. Keller to withdraw her daughter from the school.°°°°°°
