a). oxidation is the answer.
bcoz loosing of electronic means oxidation, acc. to new theory of redox.

During ionization process, the metals are supposed to lose electrons this change is called as oxidation. Hence option (a) is correct.

“Oxidation is the process” of loss of electron that increases the oxidation number of metal atom.

Hence the loss of electron forms M+ ion and the process is called as oxidation because the oxidation number of metal ion is more than the oxidation number of metal atom. All the atoms are neutral with zero charges but cations have +ve charge.
