Why is time considered a fundamental quantity even if it has no physical existence?

So I thought really hard about it. Do you think any of the other fundamental quantities like distance and velocity have a physical existence? We just say that school to your house is 5 km but can you say that the 5 km has some physical existence? We just divide up space to denote distance. How about velocity? Your car is travelling at 50 km/hr but that is again a representation of how fast you are covering the distance. You can’t hold that 50 km/hr. It has no physical existence. We made up quantities to figure out how the universe works. Similarly, we represent time by a clock. We need time more than any other fundamental quantity because the other quantities are described in terms of it like velocity. And as others have mentioned, rate of change.

Note: All this struck me after 10 minutes of brain hammering so I’m not saying everyone’s opinion is the same as this.

Time is so special .. Then what is looks like ..wait what I said ? Time is the feeling it has no physical meaning. .. The most quantized thing...everything in the universe is quantized .. People who know little bit ...say I can change the time I can do this..that.. That's not true..
Time is the most unusual thing .in the universe it is existed before the space .. As this makes people to think is there something which was existed before the universe was actually created you can stop anything any dynamic movement can reverse it.. Except perpetual motion... But you just can't control time as it controls and keeps watch of everything.. Time is the most longest and oldest thing time will be forever.. But at the same time it is smallest thing as it is divided into 3 aspects future ,present, past well you can many of them.as it is long lasting... You just can't because what is your present click and knock there it becomes your past .. The most ...beautiful thing.. Time is LIVING . time is not what we understand... Or else we would have controlled it.. Just like other dynamic things .and quantities
