Relative molecular mass of an element is the ratio between the molecular mass of that element (average value) and molecular of of carbon-12 isotope.

To calculate the relative molecular mass in a simple way ,we add the relative atomic mass of all the atoms present in a molecule.

Similarly,for H2O.

The relative molecular mass will be,

= (2×1) + (16) [ relative atomic mass of hydrogen is 1 and relative atomic mass of oxygen is 16]

= 18 (answer)
