a reaction in which more reactive element displaces less reactive element from compound is called the displacement reaction . in displacement reaction a more reactive metal displace a less reactive metal from its salt solution

When an object is set into motion from a point (starting) to another point (end) in a particular direction then it is said that the object has been displaced. This is called as Displacement.
You can also state the object as particle and motion as linear motion.
