This is the reverse of rigidity. Filling a gas container; a gas containercan be filled with a large amount of gas when an external pressure is applied on a gas while filling. In thegas container, the gasparticles are compressed into a small volume. Shape: solids have definite shapes and definite boundaries.

Liquids do not fill a gas container completely, while gases fill the gas container completely in which it is kept. This is because the particles of gas can move in all the directions. A container can be filled with gas, provided an external pressure is applied. and the gas particles remain compressed to a small volume.
