Definition of memory inherent devices in computer graphics
Answers
Advancement in technology has promoted the development of ‘Inherent memory devices’, which is defined as a storage device without any external memory.
Inherent memory devices are known to retain the images for a longer time than the refresh line-drawing display devices.
There are 2 types of Inherent Memory devices –
1. Flat Panel Display - The Flat Panel displays have an entirely flat display surface when compared to the curved front of the CRT.
2. Direct View Storage Tube - The DVST is simpler and cheaper variation of the vector refresh CRT monitor of the late 60’s. The picture line was displayed by a line of vectors by the image was stored as an internal charge distribution and so it did not need a display processor or a buffer.
