Rhizoids are present in Riccia. Rhizoids are numerous, elongated, hair-like structures on the thallus similiar to roots. Tuberculate rhizoids have peg like outgrowths projected inwards into the lumen from the wall.

Picnoxylic woods are secondary vascular tissues.They have large amount of xylem tracheids but less parenchyma. This type of wood are durable and stronger compared to manoxylic wood.
